Introduction

Once you have activated and configured the Asset Management module in your TrackTik portal, you can perform services on the assets using a mobile device. To learn more about TrackTik's Asset Management module, please refer to this article.

When the Asset Management module is active in your portal, this icon will appear on the mobile application.

Scanning A Bar Code

If an asset is linked to a service schedule, you can scan the asset's bar code and perform the service.

If the asset is not linked to a service schedule, you will be prompted to create the asset. Follow the steps below to proceed.

  1. Tap the Asset Management icon.
  2. Select the option to scan a bar code.

  1. If there is no existing asset with the bar code you scanned, you will be prompted to add a new asset. Please refer to this section for more information on entering assets.

  1. If there is an asset with that bar code linked to a service schedule, you will be prompted to perform the service. Please refer to this section for more information on performing services.
Creating A New Asset Manually With The Mobile Device

Tap the Asset Management icon and follow the steps below to add a new asset.

  1. Select Add A New Asset.

  1. Fill out the fields.

  • Asset Name: Enter the name of the asset.
  • Asset Type: Select one of the pre-defined assets in the list.
  • Description: Enter a more detailed description of the asset.
  • Barcode: Enter a barcode number for the asset, if any.
  • Serial Number: Enter a serial number for the asset, if any.
  • Location: Select a site location from the list.
  • Condition: Select a pre-defined condition from the list.
  • NFC: If you would like to associate an NFC token to the asset, set this field to Yes. If you set the field to Yes, you will be prompted to scan the token with the phone.
  • Purchase Order Number: Enter a purchase order number for the asset, if any.
  • Purchase Cost: Enter the cost of the asset.
  • Date Received: Enter the date that you received the asset in your inventory.
  • Expiration Date: Enter an expiration date for the asset.
  • Installation Date: Enter the date of installation, if any.

Click the Create button to create the asset.

Viewing Scheduled Services

With the mobile application, you can view a list of upcoming services and perform the services. Follow the steps below to do so.

  1. Tap the Asset Management icon and select View Scheduled Services.

  1. The list of scheduled services will appear. Tap on a scheduled service.

  1. Select Perform Service.

  1. Fill out the fields for the questions you added for the service type.

  1. Click Save to complete the service.

The completed service will appear in the service logs. For more information on service logs, please refer to this article.

View Pending Assets

You can view a list of assets in a pending status, make the asset active or inactive, or otherwise modify the asset. Follow the steps below to do so.

  1. From the home screen, tap the Asset Management button.

  • Save as Active: Update the status of the pending asset to active.
  • Save as Inactive: Update the status of the pending asset to inactive.
  • Edit Asset: Edit the asset as you would in the TrackTik portal.

Edit an Asset

Follow the steps below to edit the asset.

  1. Tap the Edit Asset option.

You can edit the following information:

  • Asset Type: Select one of the asset types from the drop-down.
  • Description: A more detailed description of the asset.
  • Barcode: Enter or update the asset's barcode number, if any.
  • Serial Number: Enter or update the serial number, if any.
  • Location: Select or update the site location from the drop-down.
  • Condition: Select or update the condition from the drop down.
  • NFC: If this field is set to no and you change it to yes, the system will prompt you to scan the NFC token and associate it with the asset.
  • Purchase Order Number: Add, modify or delete the purchase order number here.
  • Purchase Cost: Add, modify or delete the purchase cost of the asset.
  • Date Received: The date the asset was received by your business.
  • Expiration Date: Enter or update the expiration date of the asset, if any.
  • Installation Date: Enter or update the installation date of the asset, if any.
