Signing In
Once you have installed Shift on your smartphone, you can use your TrackTik portal credentials to sign in. Talk to your manager to ensure you have the correct credentials. For username, you can use either your email address or your unique username (as long as they associated with your employee profile in the TrackTik web portal)
To log in from the Login screen:
- Enter your domain URL and select Next.
- Enter your username or email address.
- Enter your password.
- Select Next. You should successfully sign in.
Notes
- You can select “Forgot Password” to reset your password if needed.
- You cannot register or create an account from the app. New accounts can only be created by managers/admin in the TrackTik web portal.
Forgot Password
Forgot Password (continued)
When you select Forgot Password, you will have to enter the email address associated with your employee profile in the TrackTik web portal so that the system can identify your user profile and send you an email with a temporary link to reset your password. This link will redirect you to the Tracktik SHIFT app, where you will be able to reset your profile password. Once you have successfully reset your password, this will save the new password in your profile for all other products you use (TrackTik staff web portal, kiosk, Guard Tour app, etc.).
Note: The password reset link expires after 60 minutes, as stated in the confirmation message and the email you will receive. If you do not reset your password before the link expires, you will have to start the process again.
Navigating through the Application
Once you have signed in, you can access three different sections via the bottom navigation bar:
- My Schedule - Stay up-to-date on your work schedule
- Shift Clock - Easily perform your shift work
- My Account - Review your profile information and account settings
Signing Out
To sign out:
- Go to My Account.
- Select Sign out.
Note: If you sign out, the app will save quick access to your last logged in Domain URL, so you don't have to input it every-time

When your manager has published new shifts, you will see a ‘New Shifts Assigned’ notification banner.
- To acknowledge new shifts, click on the ‘New Shifts Assigned’ banner; it will open a New Shifts Screen, with the list of new shifts assigned where you will be able to select the Acknowledge button. This informs your manager that you have acknowledged your new schedule.
- To ensure you have the latest changes, leave and return to the My Schedule screen to prompt a page refresh.
Acknowledging Schedule Changes
When your manager has made changes to your shift schedule, you will see an ‘updated shifts’ notification banner.
- To acknowledge schedule changes, click on the ‘updated shifts’ banner; it will open an Updated Shifts Screen, with the list of shifts that have been changed where you will be able to select the Acknowledge button. This informs your manager that you have acknowledged schedule changes.

Navigating to a Shift Site
To navigate to a shift site;
- From the Shift Details screen, select the Get Directions link.
- From the Shift Clock screen, before clocking in for a shift, you can access a similar shift details card where you can select the Get Directions link.
- From the expanded menu, choose the preferred map app of your choice. The map app will open to navigate you to the shift location.
Shift Clock
Shift Clock restrictions
Your manager has the ability to block the use of the Shift clock via the SHIFT application. If that is the case, you will not be able to perform any clock actions on the app, and you will see this text instead: “Shift Clock via TrackTik Shift is disabled for this site.”
Geofence Restrictions
If the sites you are scheduled to work at have been configured with geofence clock-in restrictions, you will be required to give TrackTik SHIFT app access to your location upon selecting clock-in. Once TrackTik SHIFT has access to your location, it can verify you are at the right location; you will not get that message again unless you disable it in your phone settings after. If you try to clock in and are not inside the allowed geofenced area, you will get the message above “Seems like you are not on site!”
Clocking In
Option 1
- Navigate to the Shift Clock Screen by clicking on the shift clock icon in the bottom navigation.
- Select the Clock In button.
Option 2
- To clock in from the shift details view, click on the Go To Shift Clock button.

- Select the Clock In button from the shift clock screen.
Note: This button is only accessible once you’re eligible to clock in and if your managers have allowed you to use the Shift Clock section. Until then, you’ll see appropriate messaging in the top banner leading up to when you’re able to clock in.
Taking a Break
- To start a break, from the Shift clock screen, select the Take Break button. This button is only accessible when you’ve clocked in.
- Confirm the action by selecting Start Break in the pop-up confirmation modal.
Ending a Break
- To end your break, select the End Break button.
- Confirm the action by selecting End Break in the pop-up confirmation modal.
Clocking Out
- To clock out, from the Shift clock screen, select the Clock Out button. This button is only accessible when you’ve clocked in.
- Confirm the action by selecting End Shift in the popup confirmation modal.
- You will see a success message if the clock out is successful.
Open Shifts
Browsing available Open Shifts
If you have the permission to request additional shifts from the Open Shifts list, you will see two tabs on the Schedule screen. As shown above, you will have your My Shift section, which includes all the shifts that have been assigned to you and an Open Shifts section that lists all the vacant shifts that are available to be requested/taken by employees (depending on the permissions).
Note: This feature needs to be activated by a manager from the TrackTik Admin portal access.
Requesting/Taking available Open Shifts
If you are interested in an open shift, you can select one of the available shifts in the list, and this will open the shift details view to see additional information about the shift. From the shift details screen, depending on your permissions, you will be able to either Request Shift, which will set the shift into a pending status until your manager approves or declines it, or you will be able to Take Shift. It will be directly added to your existing schedule and be visible in your My Shifts section.
Note: A manager needs to grant you permission from the TrackTik Admin portal access so that you can perform these actions.
