Creating, editing, and archiving a Leave Type

Learn how to create, edit, and archive a Leave Type for Leave Management.

Overview

Leave Types are categories that help to define what type of leave is used in your Leave Policy in Leave Management.

By default, you have 11 common Leave Types:

  • Bereavement
  • Family Obligations
  • Jury Duty
  • Maternity Leave
  • Paternity Leave
  • Parental Leave
  • Personal Day
  • Sick
  • Vacation
  • Work From Home

You can create your own if none of these Leave Types meet your needs.

 

Before you start

Here are some things you must do before you start:

  • To create a Leave Type, you must have the required permissions turned on:
    • Allow Management to view Leave Types
    • Allow Management to create/edit Leave Types

 

Create a Leave Type

To create a Leave Type:

  1. Log into your TrackTik Portal.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. In Backoffice Configurations, select Leave Types.
  4. Select + New Leave Type.
  5. In the Name box, enter the Leave Type name.
  6. Select Save.

The Leave Type is now available to use in your Policy Items.

You can see the status of each Leave Policy item in the Status column.

Editing a Leave Type

To edit a Leave Type, complete steps one to three in Create a Leave Type.

Select Edit to make the changes, and select Save when you’re done.

 

Archiving a Leave Type

To archive a Leave Type, complete steps one to three in Create a Leave Type.

Select the X icon and then Save.

To see all archived Leave Types, in the filter drop-down, select Archived.
