Latitude and Longitude in reports

TrackTik's reporting now includes Latitude and Longitude values, enhancing report accuracy and traceability for field operations teams.

Key Benefits

Pinpoint accuracy – Attach exact coordinates to report entries for reliable location tracking.

Improved compliance – Strengthen audit trails with verifiable geolocation data.

Seamless integration – Export coordinates to mapping tools (e.g., GIS) for deeper analysis.

Who Benefits Most?

  • Security teams verifying patrol routes and incident locations.
  • Field operations requiring precise tracking of activities.
  • Compliance & auditing teams needing accurate location records.

How It Works

When generating a report:

  1. The system automatically includes latitude and longitude for relevant entries.
  2. Coordinates appear in the report output and exported files (CSV, PDF, etc.).
  3. Use the data for mapping, route validation, or compliance reporting.

💡 Example Use Case: A security supervisor reviews a patrol report and confirms that officers visited all checkpoints by cross-referencing GPS coordinates with expected route data.

Availability & Support

This feature is not enabled by default. To activate it, you must manually set the two newly added configuration options to “Yes” at the region, zone, and site levels.

The two new settings are called “Display link to map location on Reports” and “Display link to map location on Summary Reports”.

See how to access them:

  • Region: Settings > General > View All
  • Site: Settings > Defaults
  • Zone: Zone Settings > Defaults

What this means for you:

  • Once enabled at the Region level, these settings will automatically apply to the Site and Zone levels too.
  • When set to “Yes,” submitted reports will include a clickable GPS location link at the submitted Reports level.
