Create Labels for positions

Learn how to create labels to standardize your organization’s work and get more in-depth analytics.

Overview

Labeling allows large organizations to tag product elements (in this case, positions) to standardize information better, allowing for more accessible data aggregation and migration. Once you enable Labels in your domain, you can create unique labels to tag positions.

Before you start

Before you can create labels for positions, there are a few things you need to do:

  • Complete all steps of Configure Labeling.
  • Establish a corporate naming convention. Labeling is most effective when standard labels are established across the whole organization. For instance, you may refer to armed personnel as security officers and unarmed personnel as security guards.  Find a rubric that works best for your company and establish it at the top level.
  • Make sure you have the Manage entity labels permission.

Create a Label for a position

To create a label for a position:

  1. Select Settings in your TrackTik Portal.
  2. Choose Entity Labels under Operation Configurations.
  3. Select Create New Label.
  4. Complete the form with a unique Code and Label, set the status to Active, and choose Position from Availability Types.

  5. Save

You now have a label that can be shared by your organization when creating positions.

Assign Labels to a position

Now that you have created a custom label, apply it to standardize positions and allow for more in-depth analytics. Select the label you want to apply when creating a position from the Labels menu.

When you create a position, you can tag it with the associated label.
