Pre‑Shift Alerts and Shift Acknowledgement

Overview

Pre‑Shift Alerts enhance how guards are notified about upcoming shifts and how they acknowledge them, starting with TT‑Shift
Guards receive a notification before a shift begins and are prompted to acknowledge the shift. If a shift is rescheduled, the system automatically sends a new acknowledgement request.

Why this matters:
This change improves schedule awareness and reduces missed or misunderstood shift changes by ensuring guards actively acknowledge updates.

Who this feature impacts

  • Guards – receive pre‑shift alerts and acknowledge upcoming shifts.
  • Dispatchers and Operations teams – gain clearer confirmation that shifts and updates have been seen by guards.

How Pre‑Shift Alerts work

1. Pre‑shift alert is sent

Before a scheduled shift starts, the system sends a pre‑shift alert prompting the guard to acknowledge the upcoming shift.

2. Guard acknowledges the shift

The guard acknowledges the shift, confirming that they are aware of the upcoming assignment.
This acknowledgement helps ensure that the schedule has been seen and understood.

3. Acknowledgement is re‑requested after rescheduling

If a shift is rescheduled, the system automatically re‑sends the acknowledgement request
This ensures guards explicitly acknowledge changes, not just the original schedule.

4. Timing rules are supported

Pre‑shift alerts support timing rules, such as:

  • early notifications before a shift starts
  • grace periods for acknowledgement

These rules define when alerts are sent and how long the system waits for acknowledgement.

Note: Configuration details for timing rules are not yet documented in available materials.

Key benefits

  • Improved schedule awareness through proactive pre‑shift notifications.
  • Reduced risk of missed updates, especially when shifts are rescheduled.
  • Clearer operational confidence that guards have seen and acknowledged their assignments.
