To create better break visibility, you can use Break Management to track if a break is ended voluntarily or involuntarily, and keep track of break times to the second.

Before you start
Here are some things you must do before you start:
- If you’re an Admin Portal user, make sure to turn on Can create break rules for the admin that’s managing breaks. To do this:
- Go to Settings > Roles & Security.
- Select a portal role.
- Go to BreakManagement.
- Select Create break rules.
- Go to Settings > System Locale Settings > Time Format. In the Time Format dropdown menu, select either AM/PM or 24 hours; seconds tracking only works for these options.
Create a voluntary or involuntary break interruption rule
Start tracking break interruptions by creating a relevant break rule.
To do this as an Admin or Staff Portal user:
- Log into your TrackTik Portal, and select Settings.
- In Backoffice Configurations, choose Break Management.
- Select + ADD RULE.
- From the Choose Region dropdown menu, choose a region.
- In the Rule Name box, enter the rule name.
- Select + ADD BREAK CONDITION.
- Under Break interruption - require confirmation, select Yes.
A break interruption means the action of stopping or ending a break early. An interrupted break is when a break interruption happens and it’s recorded in Guarding Suite. If you select No, security officers can end breaks early without confirming this action.
- Complete the other condition types.

- Select ADD CONDITION.
- Select CREATE RULE.
The break condition is added and any break interruptions are now recorded in your break log exceptions and summary reports as voluntarily or involuntarily.
