Increasing mobile patrol efficiency by optimizing your runsheet routes in Mobile Dispatch.
Overview
Runsheet route optimization takes all the patrol jobs assigned to a specific runsheet and calculates a recommended order for them to be completed by a mobile patrol user.
Note: TrackTik doesn't enforce the order, so the mobile user can skip ahead if a patrol job takes longer than anticipated and there's another patrol job at a specific time.
Before you start
Before you can optimize runsheets, you will need to do the following:
- Turn the Runsheet Route Optimization feature ON
Optimize your runsheet routes
To optimize your runsheet routes:
- Select Mobile Dispatch.
- Choose Zone Settings.
- Pick a zone from the Select a Zone drop-down menu
- Next to the runsheet you want to optimize, select Optimize.
- In the Choose Optimization Strategy drop-down menu, choose between two settings:
- Try with the original provided time (Normally Faster) - This option takes the patrol jobs, calculates the distance and time between them, and creates a recommended route. However, it won't load balance or spread out the repeat patrols scheduled in the runsheet duration for the same site.
- Split visits equally across time range (Normally more time) - The system will optimize the route by evenly distributing multiple patrols at the same sites through the runsheet's assigned time range.
- After you confirm the details, select Save this Sequence.
Known limitations to route optimization
Routes for runsheet optimization are limited to having fewer than 30 unique addresses and 75 jobs. Exceeding either of these amounts will generate the following error: "You have more than 30 unique addresses, can't optimize," and you must adjust your runsheet.
