Overview

To help multilingual employees and teams better understand job tasks, translating Job Types is the way to go.

Important

Job Types aren’t translated automatically; you must enter the translated text. Entering translations for Job Types is covered in step 2.


Before you start

Here are some things you must do before you start:

  • As an admin, you must turn on translations for Job Types. To turn on translations for Job and Service Types:
    1. Log into your TrackTik Portal.
    2. Go to Settings > Patrol Settings > OBJECT-LANGUAGES.
    3. Choose Translate Job Types.

Set up translations for Job Types

Setting up translations for Job Types requires two steps: turning on the Job Type feature and entering translations for the Job Type.

 

Step 1: Turn on translations for Job Types

To use translations for Job Types, you must turn the feature on.

To turn on translations for Job Types:

  1. Sign in to your TrackTik Portal.
  2. Go to Settings > Job / Service Types.
  3. Select Edit Info for the Job Type you want to translate.
  4. In the Default language dropdown menu, select the default language for your Job Type.
  5. In the Support multiple languages dropdown menu, select Yes.

The feature is now turned on for the Job Type. You can now enter translations for your Job Type.

 

Step 2: Enter translations for Job Types

After you set a default language and turn on support for multiple languages, you must enter translations for each Job Type.

If you don’t translate the text, the Job Type shows in the default language that’s set in Step 1: Turn on translations for Job Types. If the translation is supported, employees can see the Job Type in their preferred language. If the language isn’t supported, the Job Type goes back to the set default language.

To enter translations for a Job Type:

  1. Go to Settings > Job / Service Types.
  2. Select the Globe icon for the Job Type you want to translate.
  3. In the Language dropdown menu, select the language you’re translating the Job Type into.
  4. Enter the translated text for each field.
  5. Select SAVE.

When an employee completes a report with a translated Job Type, it now shows in the supported language.
