Set up Okta single sign-on (SSO) for TrackTik

Learn how to set up Okta SSO for TrackTik.


 

Overview

You can use Okta with OpenID to sign into TrackTik through a web or mobile device, so you and your assigned People and Groups can log in conveniently.
This is a great and secure way to save time when logging into TrackTik.


 

Before you start

There are some things you need to do before you start:

  • Make sure you have Okta admin credentials.

 

Set up Okta SSO for TrackTik

There are four steps to get Okta SSO set up for TrackTik:

 

Step 1: Add the TrackTik integration to your Okta

To get started, add the TrackTik integration app to your Okta account.

To add the TrackTik integration to your Okta:

  1. Log into Okta as an admin.
  2. Go to Applications > Applications.
  3. Select Browse App Catalog.
  4. In the Search… box, enter TrackTik and choose the TrackTik - OIDC integration.

  5. Select + Add Integration.
  6. In the General Settings tab, select Done.

You can now enter your TrackTik domain URL.

 

Step 2: Enter your TrackTik domain URL

When you finish Step 1, you can now tell the Okta SSO where to apply the single sign-on feature; this is done using your TrackTik domain URL.

To enter your TrackTik domain URL:

  1. If you haven’t already, log into Okta as an admin, go to Applications > Applications, and select the TrackTik integration.

  2. Select the Sign On tab, and in the Settings box, select Edit.

  3. In Advanced Sign-on Settings, enter your TrackTik domain URL in the Domain box.
    This is the URL you use when you log into TrackTik. For example, TheBestSecurityCompanyEver.staffr.net.

  4. Select Save.

You added your domain URL. You can now assign People and Groups.

 

Step 3: Assign People and Groups to your integration

When you finish Step 2, you can assign People and Groups to your TrackTik integration, so they can use Okta SSO to log into TrackTik.

To start assigning People and Groups:

  1. If you haven’t already, log into Okta as an admin, go to Applications > Applications, and select the TrackTik integration.

  2. Select the Assignments tab.

  3. Select the Assign drop-down menu and select Assign to People or Assign to Group.
  4. In the Search… box, enter and select the person or group you want to assign.
  5. Select Assign.
  6. Enter more details about the user if you want. When you’re done, select Save and Go Back.

When you assign a Group, and if it has users, they show up as a Group type instead of People.

Step 4: Send your details to your solution specialist

When you finish Step 3, you can now send your details to your solution specialist:

  • Okta domain name
    You can get your Okta domain name from your browser URL bar.
  • Client ID and Client secret
    To find your Client ID and Client secret, go to Applications > Applications, select the application, then the Sign on tab.

  • Matching strategy
    • Match to a username
    • Match to an email address
    • Match to a domain username. For example, sferragne@ad.domain.com matches to username S. Ferragne.

Your TrackTik domain is now set up with Okta SSO.
