Increase your efficiency and consistency in Site and Zone creation by using templates.
Overview
Templates allow you to define default configurations for on-site features at the Site or Zone level. Once applied, these templates ensure consistency across multiple locations and reduce manual setup.
Before you start
Here are some things you must do before you start:
- Contact us to activate the Site Template Release Flag on your TrackTik Portal
- You can apply templates to both Sites and Zones.
Create a Site or Zone template
To create a template:
- Click Settings
- Choose Site Templates or Zone Templates
- Select Create Site Templates or Create Zone Templates
- Give your template a Name to identify it.
- Choose whether the template will be Available in sub-regions. If you choose Yes, the template will be available to all regions below the parent region. Choosing No limits the template to sites in the region where you create it.
- Give the template either an Active or Archived status.
- For new templates, the default is Active.
- Changing the status of a template to Archived will restore the affected sites to their configuration before you applied the template.
Configure a Site or Zone template
To configure a template:
- Click Settings
- Choose Site Templates or Zone Templates
- Select the template and click Configure
- Activate the standard features for your Site or Zone by clicking the toggles to ON

Apply a template to a Site or Zone
To apply a template to a Site or Zone
- Click Sites (Client)
- Choose the site or zone and click View
- Select the Edit tab
- Choose a Site Template or Zone Template from the drop-down menu
- Click Save
Applying a template overrides everything you have set in Settings > Security & Patrol > On Site Features and blocks you or other users from adjusting said features.
Note about Locked Configuration
Once a template is applied, the site or zone will display a message: This site/zone is using a template. Features can only be enabled or disabled on the template.
This means individual settings become read-only and can only be changed by editing the template itself. This helps ensure consistency across locations and prevents accidental changes
