Learn how to approve, decline, or submit a Shift or Leave Impact Request for your employees in Back Office Suite.
Overview
Shift or Leave Impact Requests can be used when an employee wants to start a shift as soon as their scheduled leave ends or if they want to begin a leave as soon as their scheduled shift ends. You can do this on the employee's behalf with the time picker feature.
> Keep in mind
- All Shift and Leave Impact Requests are calculated as end date plus start time minus one second.
- You can't use the Shift or Leave Impact Request functionality for Urgent or Past Leave Requests.
Employees can also submit a Shift or Leave Impact Request in TrackTik SHIFT, which you can then approve or decline.
Submit a Shift or Leave Impact Request
To submit a shift or leave with impacts for an employee in Back Office Suite:
- Log into your TrackTik Portal.
- Choose Employees.
- Find and select View for the employee for whom you want to log a Shift or Leave Impact Request.
- Choose the Leave Management tab.
- Select Log Employee Leave.
- In the Leave Type drop-down menu, choose a Leave Type.
- In the Start leave date / End date calendar picker, select a start date and end date. You can also enter a start and end time.
- To change the clock time format, check out System Locale Settings.
- The number of shift or leave impacts is shown if there is a shift or leave impact.
- Select SAVE.
- Select the link above the SAVE button for more details on whether there is any shift or leave impacts.
Employees can check out the status of a Leave Request or if they have upcoming leave in TrackTik SHIFT.
Manage a Shift or Leave Impact Request
To manage a shift or leave with impacts in Back Office Suite:
Manage all Shift or Leave Impact Requests
- Log into your TrackTik Portal.
- Choose Dashboards.
- Select the LEAVE REQUESTS tile.
- Choose Pending.
- Select any pending Leave Requests with shift impacts in the Affected Shifts column.
- Choose APPROVE or DECLINE.

The employee can view the request in TrackTik SHIFT.
Manage employee-specific Shift or Leave Impact Requests
- Log into your TrackTik Portal.
- Choose Employees.
- Find and select View for the employee you want to approve or decline a Shift or Leave Impact Request.
- Choose the Leave Management tab.
- In the Requests column, select any Leave Type with a request. Details about the Leave Request, including any affected shifts, are shown.
- Choose the Leave Request you want to approve or decline.
- Choose APPROVE or DECLINE.

The employee can view the request in TrackTik SHIFT.
