Job type visibility

There are a couple of things to learn about how job types appear in the system.

  • Job type trickle-down: Administrators can control which job types are visible in different regions and subregions.

It helps ensure that only relevant job types are shown to the right teams, without changing how jobs are dispatched or managed.

✅ Good to know: This feature only affects visibility. It does not change how jobs are assigned or completed.

  • Selection visibility: Job-type selection interface displays both the job type code and description.

🔧 How to use Job type trickle-down

  1. Go to Settings → Jobs and Service Types.
  2. Choose an existing job type or create a new one.
  3. Click Edit Info.
  4. Set Available to All Regions to No if you want to limit visibility.
  5. Select the specific region(s) and subregion(s) where the job type should appear.

Selection visibility

Dropdown lists used for job-type selection show entries in the format:

CODE – Description

Examples:

  • ALM01 – Alarm Response

This format helps users distinguish between similarly named job types without needing to open each one individually.

How to use it

  1. Navigate to any screen where a job type must be selected (e.g., Alarm → Add Job Type).
  2. Open the drop-down list.
  3. You’ll now see entries like ALM01 – Alarm Response instead of just Alarm Response.

📝 Key Notes

  • You can assign job types to specific regions manually or let them trickle down from a parent region.
  • Dispatching views and workflows stay the same.
  • This feature gives you more control over who sees what—without changing how jobs work.
