ADP connector: Support for NextGen APIs

The ADP connector in TrackTik BOSS supports both Workforce Now (WFN) and Next Generation (NextGen) platforms. The NextGen integration includes updated APIs and data formats, allowing for more flexible and robust synchronization of employee and payroll data.

This article outlines the supported functionality, configuration details, and system behavior for clients using the ADP NextGen connector.

Supported functionality

The ADP connector supports the following features when integrated with ADP NextGen:

  • Employee and payroll data synchronization using ADP’s updated API endpoints
  • Dynamic company codes and pay group IDs, allowing variable-length identifiers (e.g., 4 digits or more)
  • Position ID mapping, ensuring accurate linkage between TrackTik and ADP employee records
  • Backward compatibility with ADP Workforce Now, allowing clients to choose the appropriate connector version

Configuration details

Company code and pay group ID

ADP NextGen allows identifiers to exceed the fixed-length formats used in WFN. The connector accepts and processes these variable-length codes without requiring manual adjustments.

Position ID handling

ADP NextGen uses updated position identifiers. The connector transmits and matches these IDs to ensure correct employee mapping.

Connector selection

The system distinguishes between WFN and NextGen connectors based on the ADP version selected during setup. No manual switching is required once the correct version is configured.
