Clock-out location with GPS geofence alerts

Clock-out verification ensures that staff complete their shifts at the correct location.

When enabled, the system checks the user’s GPS position against the site’s geofence and generates an alert if the clock-out occurs outside the designated area.

Key behavior

  • The system compares the clock-out location with the configured geofence.
  • Alerts are logged and visible to administrators for review.
  • This feature supports operational accuracy.

How to enable geofence verification

You can set this up in 3 different places: Zones, Sites and Departments.

See the example below of enabling it via Sites view. It's the same for the other paths.

There are 3 modes to choose for the clock-out:

  • No GPS restrictions (Clock-out can occur anywhere)
  • Permit clock-out when not in GPS range and create system expectation
  • Block clock-out when not in range

Best practices

  • Ensure geofence boundaries are correctly configured for each site.
  • Confirm staff devices have GPS permissions enabled.
  • Regularly review alerts to identify patterns or potential issues.

Troubleshooting

  • Unexpected alerts? Check geofence accuracy and device location settings.
  • Feature not available? Verify admin-level permissions.
