Overview
TrackTik supports NFC, barcode, and GPS checkpoints. Administrators can set up each type of checkpoint using a mobile device, and security guards can scan every checkpoint type with a mobile device.
Set up an NFC checkpoint
To set up an NFC checkpoint:
- Tap Checkpoints
- Choose View All Checkpoints
- Select the checkpoint you want to associate with the NFC tag
- Choose either
- Setup NFC Checkpoint or
- Set up NFC with Serial number: This provides greater security. The NFC's unique serial number will populate the (Optional) Barcode ID field in the portal.
- Your mobile device will prompt you to hold it over the NFC tag, and TrackTik will confirm that it is written correctly. Each device's NFC antenna is located in a specific spot. In some cases, scanning the device over the top of the NFC token may be necessary.
Set up a barcode checkpoint
To set up a barcode checkpoint:
- Tap Checkpoints
- Choose View All Checkpoints
- Select the checkpoint you want to associate with the barcode.
- Tapping Setup barcode Checkpoint will open the camera on the mobile device.
- Scan the barcode, and it will be linked to the checkpoint.
