Use and understand Forego Amounts

Learn about Forego Amounts and how they're calculated in Back Office Suite.

Overview

The Forego Amount feature shows projected pay in a Leave Request for an employee so that they can see the financial impact of their Leave Request and what potential income they are giving up.

Keep in mind

Forego Amount is only shown if the employee is assigned a scheduled shift.

Use Forego Amounts

Your employees can see Forego Amounts in TrackTik SHIFT:

  1. Log into TrackTik SHIFT.
  2. Select the Profile icon.
  3. Choose Leave Request.
  4. Select New Leave Request.

Once the details are completed for the Leave Request, employees can select Amount and see the total amount they are getting and a detailed list of the shifts that contribute to the calculation.

Calculating Forego Amounts

Forego Amounts use the same calculation for three scenarios:

  • Daily impact for each shift that's entirely in an employee's Leave Request range
For example, an employee submits a Leave Request for each shift in a Leave Request range.
    • Calculated as pay rate multiplied by scheduled hours.
  • Daily impact for each shift that's overlapping days in an employee's Leave Request range
For example, an employee submits a Leave Request for each shift in a Leave Request range, but the calculation only includes the scheduled overnight hours if they have scheduled overnight hours.
    • It is calculated as the pay rate multiplied by scheduled hours.
  • Leave Request impact for each Leave Request range (a group of days in a Leave Request)
For example, an employee submits a Leave Request for each shift in a Leave Request range.
    • Calculated as pay rate multiplied by scheduled hours for all days in the Leave Request; the Forego Amount equals the sum of all shifts in the Leave Request range.
